‘D’ Gates Communications Design

Hurst personnel provided Project Management and Technical Consulting Services on the Project Team that provided detailed designs and engineering reviews (including costs, budget, and procurement/construction specifications) for communications infrastructure and systems.

  • Premises Distribution System (PDS) with fiber, conduit, and cabling design
  • Hardware design for networks to support data, voice, and video
  • Main distribution frame room & computer room design with power and backup requirements
  • Factory and site acceptance testing; installation review

Airport—Wide Communications Master Plan

The successful completion of the ‘D’ Gates design led to preparation of a Communications Master Plan for the airport including Terminals A, B, C, designed portions of ‘D’ Gates and planned additions to ‘D’ Gates.

  • Upgrades required for infrastructure, networks and systems with priorities, budget and schedule
  • Design details for procurement/construction specifications to be written directly from plan
  • Preliminary design for an Airport Systems Manager (ASM) for controlled access to operational data
